Welcome

Welcome to St Matthew’s C of E  Primary Academy website.

I am delighted to be the Executive Principal of such a welcoming and friendly academy.

I am proud to lead and support the children, staff and academy family through our new vision and values:

Vision – We aim to be a family community rooted in equality where everyone feels safe, happy and valued as a cherished member of our Christian academy and create resilience, hope and aspirations for the future.

We will provide a caring environment where children and staff are given opportunities to flourish through inspirational learning, love and laughter.

Values –

Compassion

Patience

Faithfulness

Justice

Humility

Service

Here at St Matthew’s, we are very proud of our values, Christian ethos, caring community, children and staff. Together we work hard to provide an exciting and interesting educational experience for all of our fantastic children.

We aim to enrich the understanding of our children in being part of a multi-cultural society, celebrating British values, diversity and equality. British values are embedded in the life of our academy. They are actively promoted through spiritual, moral, social and cultural education and form a part of our distinctive Christian character. We value and welcome all faiths and non-faith because we value and respect all God’s children and their families. In our Church Academy Inspection, called SIAMS, we were graded as good.

The members of the Local Academy Committee (LAC) and staff have high expectations of our children, regardless of their ability, and are committed to providing a high quality education for all.

We are also part of the family of St Chad’s Academies Trust who work with us on our journey to excellence through effective challenge and support.

We aim to ensure that our children are inspired and make good progress by feeling safe, happy, secure, valued, confident and enthusiastic about their learning experiences. We also believe that success is measured not only academically, but personally, socially and spiritually. High self esteem is encouraged, high expectations, standards and values are fostered and progress and achievement are positively monitored and celebrated. Nurturing each child’s uniqueness and responding to their individual needs matters here at St Matthew’s.

Our relationship with our families is very important to us and we welcome parents/carers feedback. We believe children and parents/carers views matter and make a difference.

Our website will provide you with information about our academy, but please don’t hesitate to contact us  should you require further information.
