Spring Term: Toys and Teddies and Traditional Tales

This term we will be looking at Toys and Teddies up until February half term and then Traditional Tales & Folk Tales until Easter.

 

All EYFS areas of learning will be linked to the main topic theme, except, Mathematics which will follow the "White Rose" scheme and Phonics which follows the "Lern Fonix" scheme.

 

We will also take part in theme days and trips during this term, photos of each will be added during the term. These are a trip to Sudbury Toy Museum, A local area walk on the common, Chinese/Lunar New Year, Number Day, World Book Day and Wear Red for Comic Relief.

 

We will also be holding a special Easter competition and service.

 

Books that we will look at and use to support our literacy learning are: Where's My Teddy?, Lost in the Toy Museum, Chinese New Year story, Goldilocks and The Three Bears, Goldy Luck and The Three Pandas (Chinese version) and The Tiger Child (Indian Folk Tale).

 

Mathematics - we will be developing our knowledge of number through the themes "Alive in 5!", "Growing 6, 7 &8" and "Building 9 & 10".

 

R.E. during Spring One we will be looking at Parables told by Jesus and in Spring Two - Salvation: Why do Christians put a cross in an Easter Garden?
